Recently, a large floating natural gas liquefaction (FLNG) platform deployed by a foreign energy giant has officially started manufacturing by domestic manufacturers. The platform is the first large-scale floating natural gas liquefaction (FLNG) project in China. The production, sales, and research team of Shanshui Special Steel's thick plate fully leverages the collaborative advantages of production, sales, and research. The first batch of thick plate contracts were awarded and delivered to the project site in only 20 days, receiving praise from the owner, laying a solid foundation for the overall supply of the project in the future.
The steel used in the project is mainly used for the manufacturing of liquefied natural gas ships, and the service sea environment is harsh. It is necessary to maintain various indicators such as yield strength, welding performance, and corrosion resistance under ultra-low temperature conditions of -40 ℃, which puts forward extremely high requirements for the production process technology of delivered steel plates.
The project order was issued on February 17th, and the user requested that the first batch of contracts be delivered by March 15th. The production, marketing and research team responded quickly, organized the docking at various levels with multiple frequencies, cooperated with relevant departments to tackle technical problems, developed a detailed production plan and optimized the process nodes with the help of the experience of steel used in early Megaproject, combined with the characteristics of this order; The technical team simulates and calculates each production process, develops corresponding abnormal response plans, and ensures that all process nodes are controllable. After unremitting efforts, we have solved a series of difficulties in production, testing, lifting and storage, and specially organized ship collaborative shipping for the transportation process. The first batch of products were delivered 6 days ahead of the required time and received high praise from users.
The current international energy supply pattern has undergone significant changes, and offshore floating natural gas collection and storage platforms, as necessary equipment for natural gas projects, have become the mainstream trend, with widespread market demand in the future. In the FLNG project, in addition to the supplied high-grade marine steel plates, the subsequent demand for low-temperature steel also faces issues such as high technical requirements and high production difficulty. Therefore, the production, sales and research team has taken the initiative to take the next step. Currently, close technical communication has been carried out with the owner and other parties, striving to achieve seamless integration in terms of technical requirements, material selection, etc., to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
